Install the Mac agent

Development status: no Developer ID signed and notarised package is published yet, so the install command below is intentionally unavailable and returns an error instead of a script.

One-command start

curl -fsSL https://bypas.tech/install-macos.sh | /bin/zsh

The generic command contains no account, device, PIA, or payment secret. The script shows exactly what it installs and asks before macOS requests an administrator password. It never disables Gatekeeper, bypasses quarantine, or installs a certificate.

Manual option

A directly downloadable signed package, checksum, Team ID, version, and notarisation verification steps will be published here for students who prefer not to pipe a script into a shell.

Required one-time PIA setting

  1. Open the official PIA app.
  2. Open Settings → Proxy.
  3. Select Shadowsocks, choose Auto or the school-approved proxy region, and press OK.

The agent can open PIA but cannot safely configure or verify Multi-Hop, because PIA 3.7.2 exposes no supported command-line interface for it. A person must confirm the PIA dashboard shows Multi-Hop/Shadowsocks.

Uninstalling

Use Uninstall… in the menu-bar app, or run the uninstaller in /Applications. It removes the menu app, the background helper, and all local enrolment state. It does not remove PIA.
